Corrections

If we have a figure, a date, a unit, or a company fact wrong, tell us. Use the "suggest a correction" link at the foot of the article, or email the address above. We treat a report as a pointer: we go back to the named source and check it ourselves, and if it holds we fix the page and say that we did. The detail is in our Corrections Policy.

Questions

A question sent from the foot of an article reaches the queue. We do not answer in private with an off-the-cuff guess; we research the good ones from sources and answer them on the site, where the answer is cited and anyone can use it. Recurring questions become their own article.

Sending us figures

If you work in the trade and have a primary document, a price table, an official filing, a customs return, a set of figures, we want to see it, in any language. Send it to the address above. We cite the original and translate a figure faithfully, with its units and its date. We do not publish a number we cannot attribute.

What we will not do

We do not give investment, financial, or trading advice, and we will not tell you whether to buy or sell. We report the market; we do not tip one. We do not invent a correspondent or file from a place we were never in. And we do not take payment to change, soften, or place a figure. Advertising is labeled and kept apart from the reporting.
